The impeachment process against Justice Yashwant Varma has gained considerable momentum as Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju confirmed on Sunday that more than 100 MPs have already signed the motion. The central government will bring an impeachment motion against Justice Varma, who landed in trouble after burnt cash was discovered at his residence, in the upcoming Monsoon Session.
"The signature (collection) is underway, and it has crossed 100 already," Rijiju confirmed when asked about the status of status of required signatures for Justice Verma’s impeachment..
On being questioned whether the Parliament would address the issue in the upcoming monsoon session scheduled to start on July 21, Rijiju said: "In the Justice Varma case, the process will be undertaken together by all parties. This is not the move by the Government alone."
